Title: Journey to the "Wolds end" April 12/13 2014
Post by: mistericeman on November 24, 2013, 12:07:43 pm
Weekend of camping/burning/drinking walking on the beach and laning to be had for those that want it in the Yorkshire Wolds  ...

Camping at Bobby Bees campsite based in Burton Fleming East Yorkshire (not far from Bridlington) http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5036

This campsite for those who haven't had the pleasure, is possibly one of the most Bizarre places we have ever camped at with such delights as ... well I'll let you find them out for yourself .

Fantastic area with some brilliant beaches only a short drive away ...high kwality unspoilt lanes with next to no one on them

You'd be most welcome to join us Neil....

It's always a giggle at Bobby Bees.... Slightly eccentric place BUT nice all the same AND some fantastic unspoilt lanes.
Well start a list on here closer to the time.... No need for booking etc.. That's a bit "club"  like lol.

You'd be most welcome Gordon ...

It's a slightly "eccentric" site BUT IMHO all the better for it ...We usually have a bit of a burn (The site owner supples a fire basket and wood for a small charge )

Plenty of animals around the place (Rabbits/chickens/"Frank the Turkey" ducks/etc etc )to keep kids amused (Even the grown up ones lol)

Just pay on the day mate ...
There is usually plenty of space (We tend to head to a far corner without hook up for the caravan as having 5 dogs it gives everyone else a bit more peace and quiet lol )
I'm sure a couple of folks will be headed off for a spot of gentle laning IF you fancy it

I'm sure as long as it's done "discretely" Neil ...

It wouldn't be a problem  At the end of the day I guess the guy just wants to protect his field etc ...
you'd be amazed how many folks I have seen just light a fire on someone's grass  btnghd

Still a good few places available for this ...

It's honestly a low pressure, chill out,do what you like type of gig ...
Turn up,relax enjoy, lane IF you want or wander on the nearby beaches share a beer or several and some BBQ scran talk bollocks about anything  ...

Try it you might just be hooked  fnky

Thanks for organising Ian, Up for this but planning to bring evensmallerminichip as well as MC. As it's his first camping trip, going to book a hookup for a leccy blanket and heater, in case it's cold. Is it best I book separately or are we going for a group booking?

Sounds a cracking idea mate ...I'll bring a extension lead and double socket lol ...

Might be worth booking IF you are going for hook up JUST to make sure ...though I suspect it'll not be too busy when we are there ...
Hoping to have a communal fire IF the weather is pretty clement .

Look forward to seeing you all there mate  fnky

Has anyone got a map with the lanes round there marked on? For those that fancy a trundle.

I reckon usual strategy of being as far away as poss from any grockles will be fave.... Obviously some folks will need leccy so may need to be nearer to hook up.

It'll be reet on the neet....

I'm hoping to be able to book the Friday and Monday off to spin things out to a long weekend BUT dependant on work playing ball lol.

Right folks we are all booked on (On a very loose basis )

Ive pre warned Robert the owner that some lucky sods will be arriving on the Thursday ....and we will have a mix of caravans/tents .
Those that require hook up can sort that out when they book on site on arrival ...

Price this year is £10 per person per night ...Hook up extra

We will be pitching up at the far end of the site away from everyone else hopefully (Past the lion enclosure, turn left at Tinkle cottage and beyond stone henge ...(I kid you not )

Please be aware that there heaps of Turkeys/ducks/chickens/rabbits etc etc wandering wild on the site ...

SO those of us with dogs ...
On leads please as penalty for murderificating any of his "pets" will be us being chucked off the site .

Not long to go now  lkebtn

Ohhhh forgot to mention I've brought the Walt tent back with me from the dogs home SO it'll give Vinny a break from shipping it.

So we'll have plenty of shelter should we need it (which we wont)

When I spoke to Robert (campsite owner AND BOBBY of Bobby Bees) He told me he had suffered a mild stroke earlier in the year...
He's well on the way to recovery BUT a hell of a shame... He's one of life's great eccentrics and all the nicer for it IMHO.

If the walt tent is going, we'll leave the big awning at home.
If for any reason you can't get the walt tent there let us know before the Thursday wdesmle that we're going and we'll take the big one whstle

Should be fine I'm going to be trying my hardest to pick roof rack from Aber before Bobby bees to give me HUGE capacity for stuffage to be carried.

Still got room for a couple of other folks IF anyone is hesitating.... Jump in well have a blast.

I'll lay good money on you being there before us.... That said The Gadgets will be there long before any of us ;-)

As you turn into the site 'reception' is on the right at the farmhouse door (chances are Robert (the site owner) will be out and about) so if there is no one about just follow the track until you come to the end.... The Gadgets will probably be there abouts.
