110-850 Shock Absorbers replaced
« on: March 25, 2020, 01:35:07 am »
Well, I have plenty to do but just lacking the motivation (slightly) after having a heart attack 15/1/20, I'm slowly getting back to some form of normality, and with this enforced lockdown and social distancing, I thought it was time I fitted the 4 new shock absorbers to my S2 Comm/Recon car (ex mil).
It was a straight forward job, I made a tool to make life easier a very long time ago, it is used to compress the bottom shock absorber rubber, to make it easier to remove the split pin and of course to ease the pain when refitting it, here it is shown with a quick clamp

and a close up with the pin removed

the tool which is dead easy to make

I must get around to shortening it by at least 1.25", anyway each shock absorber was changed in less than 10 minutes per side, bggest hassle for me was lifting the wheels back into place, anyway cheers all, n stay safe dgs
