Chicken Coop
« on: April 06, 2020, 10:42:45 pm »
Been off work for a week now.
So, I've been having a big clearout in the garden and started to build a Chicken Coop and Run.
Pictures to follow.

There is something so comforting about a content hen making that " kaaaark" sound after a good scrat around!
Grew up with loads of differing breeds, my dad being a big fan.
Used to enjoy watching him go round the inside of an empty coop with the blow lamp to get rid of mites and stuff.

Happy days. wdesmle

We had a second chick hatch yesterday. One of the hens is brooding 2 eggs and we have a further two in the incubator.

How are yours getting on Fluffle?

The three hens are giving us 2 eggs a day. I'm sure I know which one isn't laying.
However, they are doing just great with no worries outstanding.

Hens don't always lay every day, I read somewhere that you should expect a hen to lay approximately 300 eggs a year!

We have 8 chickens, which live in a Eglo Cube, with automatic light controlled door (luxury) and get 6 eggs on average, every day.

Ours also don’t lay every day. In fact now that one of our three is brooding we’re only getting 1 a day on average.
