Lighter and less hassle than a 9x9!
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

I admit I like the space in a 9x9 and with the ambulance, a 12x12 is great, if not a tad too big to be cozy.

A 12x12 is ace BUT ludicrously big to carry about....
And I suspect a 9x9 isn't much better...

This is mine , enjoying a spot of seal watching on Vatersay last year.  whstle

its the one which is a foot longer ....the H4TL .

They aren't the be all but they are handy so long as its not too windy.

With a bit of a redesign they could be brilliant but I think the fella who started the firm and indeed still takes your order is about 70 and just wyling away the years on Seil .....and who could blame him!

Apparently a dull, bog standard DBG 88'' ......with only two headlights. The shame!!

This is my first-time **** at Opheers last year - goes up easy enough, but is better with practice and can be a bit tricky re-attaching if you drive away. Not the most stable when free-standing if there's any wind. Plenty big enough for two camp beds - and you can stand up inside. I like it.

My Landy is back to fill soft top for this year's season.

I have spoken to the Caranex chap a few times over the years.

He is always charming, patient and really helpful.

The 9x9 is just about portable but, yes, large.

The 12x12 is a massive comittment to transport, chaphandle and erect.

I hope to come up with a shortened version this year (time permitting) that is half as long as the 12x12 and uses 1/3 of the poles so provides a decent space which works with ambulance or 101 (similar height) and looks the part.

It's not as easy as just cutting a 12x12 in half, the window needs adapting either side too.

I've just remembered a Gumtree post to share, get Vinny and the cheque book on standby.
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

Looks very smart! I nice way of combining the Land Rover and a tent. How much do they sell for usually...,?

They sometimes come up on eBay - I bought mine new last year and it was about £400 from memory, with extras added in.  It is very well made. Takes some getting up the first time, but when you understand how it goes together it's a doddle.  My pic was of the first attempt and isn't properly tensioned. It really does extend the use of your Land Rover. I'm taking it to Opheers and to the S2 International, and maybe to Leafers if there's space to camp. You're welcome to have a look.
