I'm gutted...

It's over. What am I going to look forward to now?

Thanks for filming this trip, it's been fantastic to watch and is better than anything on TV. (in content and production quality)

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I wanted to let Vidal know that I am so inspired by his videos that I'm going to attempt this trip in July in my Series 2. Can't wait, it's going to be a dream trip for me! Last time I did a euro trip  was 25 years ago in a Triumph Herald I got from a scrapyard. It hasn't changed much over there has it?

I even bought this months Classic Land Rover mag for the first time!

So, what I'm trying to say is Thank You  yrck

Mark

Ps. any tips gratefully received!

I'll certainly take plenty of photos but my filming skills aren't 1% of Vidals.
My lad is coming so I'll see what he can do.

Can't wait, just need to find a couple of leafers to come with me...  whstle
Looking at going on 2nd July.

Cheers chaps, you won't regret going.
A good tip for the mountains is always give yourself a lot more time to get places that you think you need.
Don't take door tops, turns out you don't need them and it gives you a wayyy bigger sense of adventure, roof off is better still and getting the screen down is the best possible way to seen the mountains and makes a brilliant experience unforgettable.
Don't forget they drive on the wrong side of the road ;).

Can't believe it's really happening but we're off to Monte Carlo via the pointy bits this Saturday!

If it's half as good as the videos look I'll be chuffed.

We're starting with a lap of the Nurburgring which I've always wanted to see. The sight of 4 Series two's rattling round should be hilarious (or dangerous?)

If it all goes wrong it's Vidals fault as without the inspiration of his films I wouldn't have got my arse into gear.
I'm leaving the door tops at home and loosening the windscreen bolts. My son, who's coming with me, thinks I'm mad.

Wish us luck, I think we're going to need it.
