Not alot to report other then fitting Batty Wagon's old roll bar into place and modifying the hood sticks to fit onto it too, and being back on the daily commute too since Ralph's roll over.

After getting Batty Wagon sorted, euroleafing, moving, new job, last min AWFFR mot's wedding planning etc etc finally found time for Tet again  wdesmle Firstly I found out about a 109 in north east Norfolk that was originally a 6 pot being stripped and managed to get the front half of the chassis (modified for a 2.25d)

This will be used to hopefully sort out the right mounts for the Santana engine as well as the radiator mounts and the type of radiator to be used and also to get the bulkhead modified accordingly as well, and then it will be sent to Richards for them to copy for a new chassis.

Last weekend with with the help of Emma and Mike, who were on the look out for a 2.5 n/a engine, and Adam and Chelsea, we managed to remove Tet's old engine and load in into the back of Emma's car, and a bit more spannering this happened!!!

During the week after work I got the Nato hitch, bumperette, gearbox mounts etc all off and today finally got the steering relay out  whoo

So you're going for Santana 6 diesel are you?

Really interested in seeing a conversion as I want that engine in my truck!

Got both axles off and all the other little bits and bobs so now it is just a bare chassis!!!
Rear axle getting to know the grass!

Front axle nearly ready to come out

And done!

Found a few more holes so done just before it was too late  jwdrp

It looks like a short mortar!
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

Had a sort out in the garage this weekend, to get things ready for when the Santana comes down from the old house (still for sale if anyone wants to move to the Fens  ;) ) but during the week to keep me busy I cleaned up the axles and started sorting out bits to be shot blasted.

Ended up getting the gearbox in place on the jig chassis too ready for the new engine. The rear axle will be sent for blasting but will tackle the front one myself to save stripping it down as nothing leaks on it etc.

Bloody interweb providers still playing games lately  FRSsml but some progress has slowly been made on Tet though  wdesmle
Front axle's been cleaned up, red oxide and black paint added

Got the flywheel and housing off the back of the engine, slight score but should be ok with a double lip seal fitted to the new flywheel housing

Also took the cover off to see if its possible to fit a vacuum pump, holes line up just need a connection I believe (already have a pump fron an 2.5 n/a)

Major progress and a slight set back his weekend, turns out the replacement flywheel I'v got is the wrong one  FRSsml didn't realise the seal is different between 3 and 5 bearing engines and I need a 5 bearing housing with the larger seal, so in the meantime I'v fitted the current one just as so I can get the engine mounts sorted out on the mock up chassis.

Cut off the passenger side mount and cleaned up where I think the new one will go, but left the modified one (2.6 to 2.25) in place thinking that'll be in roughly the right place.

Moment of truth!!!

And bugger  Hmor

A short time later  wdesmle

So late night it was bolted to the gearbox and left like this  whoo

Today I started of seeing what I could do for engine mounts, not too bothered on looks etc at the mo as this is just to test things etc, was able to use an old engine mount upside down on the passenger side.

And a bit simular on the drivers side but a bit more Heath Robinson  whstle

And all back in place with no hoist or jacks etc to hold it all in place  wdesmle

Got a little bit of space left up front at least.

Too close for a series radiator so will see if a 90/110 radiator will fit on top of the cross member. Also removed the 2 fuel filters to relocate these for ease in the future.

Next job was sorting out the bulkhead, no going back now!!!

Not quite enough.

Alot more cutting later!!!

End of play today results in bulkhead and engine in place and ready for fettling etc  wdesmle
