We have now refitted the clutch and reassembled the timing case. Then the time finally came on Friday to put the engine back in. The first attempt revealed that the exhaust front pipe was in the way, so out came the engine and off with the front pipe. The second attempt went better but we then discovered that the turbo was fouling the wing, so out came the engine again and EskValleyBoy embarked on "clocking" the turbo. He did a fantastic job and we reattached the turbo just as darkness fell. Out came the lights and third time lucky the engine went in. So Brian now has his engine in an loosely bolted to the gearbox but unfortunately it was too dark to wire it up.

We have also removed the drivers side end of the seatbox because it didn't look particularly good and while the seatbox is out and in pieces we may as well do it properly and replace it as well so we picked a new one up on the way home. Tomorrows job is hopefully going to be picking up a new pair of seats and beginning to reassemble the seatbox.

Hey up, just to let you all know Brian is still around, we got himup to our house around March time and we`ve done some small welding jobs on the chassis and wired in a couple of 12v sockets for charging phones etc.

We are hoping to move house in the not too distance future and once that is done were going to take Brian off the road and do a full strip down to chassis to sort out the bulkhead mainly but also the supension.

until then he`ll be trundling around doing local jobs, and going see the big diesels at my work...

Hey up folks,
Hope your all keeping well, as some of you will know Beth and I got the house done in September we`ve been playing catch up since then, getting my new shed into some kind of workable condition. 
Brian is still in one piece however I`ve been steadily beavering away in the shed on a spare bulkhead that Beth has purchased and I`m hoping to have the welding finished by next weekend so we`ll start taking him apart very soon so we can trail fit the bulkhead before rust proofing and painting.

Update as once again it's been a while
so we finished welding the bulkhead it`s been painted, rustproofed and fitted, Beth's cut out all the rot on the chassis and welded new patches in, she's also took apart and remade to wiring loom.
I've been steadily rebuilding the tub so far it's had:
new rear crossmember and gussets,
new half rear quarters,
wheel arch box angles where the floor sits,
front chassis mounting areas remade,
sill mounting area remade,
lower fuel filler area where it goes around the tank stems remade,
there is a new floor and crossmembers to go in.
I'll post some pics up if folk are interested ?
