Thought I'd give a brief history of my swb FFR. Brought it around 12 years ago after a chance meeting helping out at a mountain biking event in Thetford Forest, had a mix bag of front seats, odd tyres and all the FFR fittings missing, but did come with quite a bit of the smaller fittings like the brackets for the front rifle clips etc, had it on the road, gave it a fresh coat of paint and ran it about until about 2004 when I thought I'd take it off for "a year" and smarten it up and fit a s/h gearbox until I could rebuild the original one (still gotta do that) so over the next 9 years it had the gearbox changed, another coat of paint, inside and out, new (Britpart, before I knew better) springs and shocks, unleaded head, split rims, proper goodyear tyres, FFR fittings found, cleaned up and fitted, radios, weapons, etc etc, wiring was always a bother as the rear loom had been buggered about and bodged with trailer cord and missing out the convoy light and nato socket, so after trying to make my own I was over the moon with an nos swb FFR loom appeared on evilbay. had a word with a local autosparky and he said he could do it, only took 3 years
but still probably quicker then what I could of done and now been back on the road since July this year, although there is now a charging issue I need to look into
Just starting the refurb
Taken just before it appeared in LRM in 2008
Off for the rewire
And back on the road this year
