A few upgrades since fitting the truck cab, first I blew another Lepai amp (this was the 3rd in 6 years, the last one only lasting 3 months!) so I decided to pay a bit more than the £16 that the old ones cost for a more substantial item. After a bit of research I found a Marine amp that fits the bill, its a Pyle Hydra, a very small waterproof unit that I have fitted behind the drivers seat under a canvas flap I installed, like the old one, and it comes with a wired remote volume control that I have mounted between the handbrake and O/D lever on the front of the seat box. I put an old toggle switch next to the unit to turn it off when not needed. It works really well although not quite as loud as the old one (a bit of fiddling needed), sounds good and I don't have to worry about any of the audio system getting wet as everything is now is waterproof.
Next up an interior light. After getting the truck cab I wanted an interior light, (especially after seeing Calums set up in his 88 at the Xmas do) so after a few months of looking I found the perfect (for me) lamp on ebay. Its from the 30s by the look of it so without wanting to drill anymore holes in the top I made a bracket that fixes inside using an existing bolt. I used the power feed to the work light with a switch to flick between the two (never needing both on at the same time) to keep things as simple as possible. I already had an old switch on the steering column to turn the power off to everything when not needed.
