Taking in a sneaky lane before bedtime...
« on: August 19, 2014, 09:45:27 pm »
Not one to take the lanes on my doorstep for granted and having two nagging leafer-apprentices seeking a late night, we fuelled-up and bounced lane-wards...

Got a bit dark on the way back; headlights need adjusting and the temp gauge was moving ominously northwards...

Apols for the crappy phone pics and every leafer-pic cliché under the sun, so to speak...

Your motor hasn't aged at all since I last saw it..

And still jealous of your ease of access to cracking lanes..

Aye, not aged much; speedo cable was unattached behind the dash! Well, there's a little bit more patina appeared along one side; starting to see the yellowy etch beneath the pastel which I quite like. It's had a t-cut and a polish. I know I know...

Refitted the mud guards under the wings which I never got round to after its rechassis (whenever that was, seems like ages ago now), fitted some boingy door mirrors just for convenience (spanner-requiring hedge-realignment of the nearside SIII item was becoming too regular), new boots and wheels because I thought I'd be taking the **** presenting the tester with the slicks again (did I ever mention they were £10.50 for a set of 5 on ebay....?  ;) ) and I've whipped off the o/d as it has become so noisy and so backlashy that I'd rather be without it. Ready for a rebuild. Oh and it has some tunes in it now and a couple of 12v sockets in the dash. And I can even hear them, it being petrol and all.

Yes, a Wolds trip sounds great. Try not to upset the TRF again. It'd be fun to get back over there.

Yes I'd seen that slightly sphincter-tightening set of pictures; particularly the one of that big ginger yout' from Hebden Bridge larking about in high range in his 900s on virgin ground! The hoodlum! No doubt the grandmasters of the TRF will be sharpening stakes and building a crucifix (big un) in the lodge in readiness for a two-wheeled, two-stroke, anti-social foray towards the Lancashire frontier, (no doubt taking in some bridleways and footpaths en-route, the hypocrites!)  to winkle out the pink-tin-living, electric glue gun-wielding, greenlaneophile!

At least he'll hear the noisy twats coming!

It was a tractor-rutted field access not **** Uluru!!
