Ok its not a Land Rover but it is still leaf sprung and many of us have and use them
so whilst the weathers not that nice down here in the Fens today thought I'd do a bit on mine. Brought it in 2005 from the Sodbury sortout and towed in back to Uxbridge behind the ex military V8 109+1 I had at the time, no working lights, no trailer licence (at the time) and no worries
Underneath all the layers of green, black, desert etc etc its turned out to be pretty sound with no welding needed at all, so over a few (skint) weekends whilst I was based at Uxbridge I set about it with a blow torch and scraper to get the majority of the layers off before smoothing it off with a sander until I got down to Deep Bronze Green paint work, so guessing it quite an early bog standard narrow track as it also lacks the hole in the rear for use with water bowers to pass the taps through.
As you see the only markings I found was a bridge plate painted on with a number 1 on it too
All the parts like the light and number plate brackets and the legs were all removed and sanded and painted separately. I originally brought it to use with my FFR so after given it a good couple of coats of red oxide it got a got of NATO green that I had used before on the FFR
Luckily (for me) we still had Bedford MJ 4 tonners on the sqn at the time which still used the old military light with screw in lenses, so a tin of biscuits to our mt lads later I had all new lights for it
just had to swap the bug eye lenses for the earlier ones and stuck on a bridge plate sticker and job done. Few years later I got a better fitting canvas and period reflectors for it too and just finished to waltyness by making up some new number plates for it, one with its military reg and another with the FFR's and TET's reg on either side for when its on public roads

Looks ace! Need to get me a Sankey someday! For now I'll just keep borrowing my mates as I have absolutely no spare room for one!

Cheers guys, its not so clean and tidy inside now after numerous uses and trips of rubbish to the tip etc, just needs a wipe over with an oil rag before it goes to its next show with the FFR

For a while now it's always bothered that when it rains the tilt on the swankey collects alot of water, and due to where I park it if I need it I end up tipping loads of water through the fence onto next doors garden, so stopping off on the way home today I whipped up this simple frame to help minimise the amount of water it collects
Tried to keep it quite low and normal looking so if I do take the frame with me to shows you cant really tell underneath the tilt, think I just about managed it too

Good effort ! Looks full but not silly. I'd just caution that if you leave it on the frame month in, month out with rain and wind you'll end up wearing and then tearing the tilt maybe.
Mine is a wide-track, so should collect less water when standing - but the drain points are not well positioned and it always has some water standing in a corner. I've seen several where the chassis was absolutely solid but the body was tissue paper with rust. :-(

That looks very good mate,
great that you have gone to so much effort to get your trailer looking right with the same detail as you would the Landy.
