So finally got the rest of the parts removed, the top of fhe chassis rails are wafer thin so the new chassis has been justified. What i wasnt expecting was the leaking shock absorbers, fuel tank and exhaust silencer 😡😤. Remind me why we love these things again? The bulkhead has been sent off to bel refurbed so hopefully soon the fun bit of putfing it all back together will start.

Better than my chassis was as when i took the tub off i found that it and the rear springs were all that were keeping the chassis in one piece.

I knew it was bad coz all the outriggers, the front dumb irons and the rear crossmember have all been replaced at some point along with most of the chassis rails but i was still a bit shocked at how bad it was when i took the tub off. That hole would get bigger if i put any kind of pressure on it. While im on a rant, modern parts are ****. Took the propshafts off and the original rear still looked ok but the front one, less than a year old looks like i have dragged it out of a swamp.

Well done, looking good.
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

Due to them coming in blue boxes i fear they may not be new or shiny for very long.

Making steady progress. New fuel tank and exhaust fitted, axles and springs and prop shafts all cleaned up and refitted. Will be a shame to cover all the shiney stuff with bodywork.

Bulkhead has arrived back from being refurbed. The lack of green paint shoes how much has been replaced. I think the next to do thing on my list is learn to weld.

Progress is slow but its getting there. Bulkhead is back on, the wiper motor and heater is back on and the pedal boxes fitted.

Found an issue with the replacement footwells, the hole forcthe brake pedal wasnt big enough so had to take the jigsaw to the new metal 😡
