Having had a menderising trip to Gossamers the weekend I decided to stick the roof rack back on ready for camping this weekend. First time it's been on since the Poland trip last year. Oh, plus O have wolf door tops now which are great! Even better since I swapped the rotten old felt for proper window channel

Looks good, Sam.

Ta for your help this weekend.

Plenty of Bovril and Sherry (Substitute) left.
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

Done quite a bit today, got round to a few jobs that's been bugging me for a while. First off did a painting and got the blue out to do the green door tops and a few other bits that were looking a bit tatty.

Next I fitted a new gas ram to my rear door as the old one had been out of gas for years so a moderate gust would close the door which was annoying to say the least! It's a range rover classic tailgate strut

Finally I got around to replacing the carpets with some rubber checker plate sheet stuff I got cheap from Amazon, had enough for the load bed, the front floor panels and a bit left over for my tool box

Looking good there Sam. Will have to have a look at the door ram the next time I see you and check out if it's a thing I might be able to do to mine

As some of you who have been to the same events I have know, the 88" has always been a bit of a pig to start from cold with slow cranking. swapped the old starter for an old TDI starter from our old disco (not ideal but was an improvement), up until a month ago it's been fine vAnyway, I swapped the starter today as that was the issue

Am I right in thinking/remembering that you were going to go with a V8 at some point?

I was considering it for a while but I've changed how I use it now really and V8 just wouldn't work for me with this with what I do with it.

The V8 will be the next land rover!

Got home from Viamphie acres and my ignition switch decided it didn't agree with life.
Fortunately I have a spare in the stash of bits that may come in useful one day I put in about 6 years ago

Had a moment of madness and thought I'd clear out inside the 88. It's been a little neglected lately so I'd like to do more with it this year

I think you'll only be doing more with it locally.
With the present virus flowing about, all the shows and rallies are cancelled.

Still more than I did last year. Need to get the output shaft to stop leaking oil then its alright to go again. Want to make a proper tool for the seal out of nylon first, just having a lack of arsedness whilst waiting on what's going on with work and being diabetic in the current crisis
