Another thumbs up for the V8. My 109 was a 2.25 petrol originally, then when that died I did the "sensible" thing and converted to a little turbo diesel. I hated it with such a passion I hardly drove her for three years... One V8 conversion later and I now take her out for a spin just because it never fails to make me smile. That noise, the endless, effortless torque, the pops, bangs and odd flame on over-run... Priceless. Yeah, it's a bit thirsty if you use the loud pedal lots, but you pay for your pleasures!
