As I have a bit of spare time, I've decided to recommission my 1970 Series 2A which I've had for about 15 years. It was my daily driver for 10 years but I've not been using it much since we moved to the coast, further away from town.

So today, I started it for the first time in a couple of years - charged the battery, turned it over a few times and it started. Most reliable vehicle I've owned. Come to think of it, all my Series Land Rovers have been reliable. It has military bumperettes and a bridge plate on the back door.

It is a California car though - it has the original 15" wheels that came as standard back in 1970 and the curiously large rear indicators. Being a California truck, the rubber seals are pretty much shot but the bulkhead is completely rust-free. So, on the to-do list is new brake fluid and wheel cylinders to overhaul. Top end overhaul. New transmission seals and overhaul the handbrake. Time to make a shopping list up.

And yes, it does lean to one side.
