So are the switches just for show then? As the ones in the above links are all wired in series back to the first? So don't they actually switch anything? Just a bit of a light show? It's the zombie switch that caught my attention  RCK

And have you got pink LED's for yours  whstle

Yesterday at work after going through the scrap bin and cutting up some old shelving brackets I finished off the frame the passenger side locker, which well house the cooker etc.

One corner has been left off as that well be cut to clear the rear bulkhead when fitting. This morning from the steel works next to work I got some 2mm thick plates cut to size and then late this afternoon got them quickly welded in place  wdesmle

Once home ground down some of the welds and given a coat of red oxide.

Then it was time to cut a big hole in Batty Wagon again  jwdrp

should be all in place tomorrow once I'v got some more cutting and grinding disks  Banana

Started the day (after walking the dogs that is) fitting some small hoops to the roof to allow us to use one of those stretchy cargo nets as a temporary dog guard for when we're refuelling the military spec tanks etc, then popped over to Fentigers to bug him and his wiring magic where he very kindly wired up the split charge, inverter and power up to the switch pod too  whoo

Found out the alternator isn't charging right, so once home found out the 2 I had under the bench are no good, so swapped it over with Ralph's until after Brimabright when I plan to fit a more powerful alternator.

Alternators are dead easy to rebuild. Usually a set of brushes and a regulator will see them working again, and they're cheap parts.

Lovely project, can't help but admire the bold colour scheme!

Been meaning to take both dogs out in Batty Wagon for ages so this evening we took them along to Fentiger towers (as I forgot to take his new fridge over yesterday  Hmor ) to make sure they would both be ok and be settled etc (rex was camera shy though unlike Maya)

Had the front windows and vents open as we both laid in the back with them before heading off  to make sure they were ok, only problem we had was when Rex jumped through to the front and stuck his bum in Sara's face  Iceey

Wire up 2 led lights to the side of Batty Wagon to give us light under the awning at night too.

Zombie lights tomorrow night  wdesmle

So earlier today I brought some white led strip lights to fit into Batty Wagon to give us light inside at night, and then brought the works van home and left it in Ralph  FRSsml so set about fitting some purple ones we already had and connected them to the "zombie light" switch on the new pod  Celbrt

Forgot to take a pic but Sara's finished off the painting on the new locker and "veranda" as well to that will go back together tomorrow and refitted  whoo

After Batty Wagons "test runs" Euroleafing and Leafers etc its time to add a bit more modding! Sara is off to a kayak event this weekend whilst I'm at work and being a little on the short side  whstle it's not the easiest of vehicles to load the kayak onto the roof rack, so after a bit of head scratching and cutting some of the rear of the roof rack away I made a basic pulley system to load it on, only got it sorted for one side at the mo but will get it sorted to load 2 in the future.

Update on Batty Wagon now things are settling down again, the brakes have never been the best so last weekend via Emma and Mike a series servo set up arrived and was duly fitted to replace the Defender one.
Starting point

Old servo and pedal box out

And series set up in place

Getting a good firm brake now but the pedal isn't springing back up so guessing I will have to strip out the pivot assembly at least.

The handbrake was the next item, I recently had some parts for TET blasted including some spare handbrake back plates and oil catchers so cleaned up some serviceable expanders and adjusters and dug out some shoes I put to one side to build up a new complete assembly to just bolt straight on.

Painted it all silver as it makes it easier to see for leaks etc, more in keeping with Batty Wagon and its the paint I had to hand too  whistle

Oil seal replaced and bolted up.

One issue we found last year was the legs for the rear tailgate only work on perfectly flat ground, and without us and the dogs in the back too, so the legs (and fold out dog ramp) have gone and chains installed instead.

Chains are now in old push bike inner tubes and tucked in behind the tailgate when driving to stop rattling and allow the reg plate to be seen too. Another job was running the antenna cable for the CB and Sara attaching her Gecko as well!

Sorted out the un-returning brake pedal  whoo so today I cut some more holes into the bodywork  jwdrp

Squared up as best I could using the steel strengthener along the top as a guide, but the bottom is a bit buckled so looks a but uneven

Found some old after market ally door cards that TET had fitted when I first brought him, so made them into doors for the new lockers

Just need to get some hinges tomorrow for them  wdesmle
