Just like buses, 2 come at same time
« on: January 24, 2016, 12:28:42 am »
Well in space of two days my driveway looks like blanchards....

88 series 2a snugly fit into my rear yard...

Then along came the ambulance, kindly transported by mac1 transport based in Bradford

Well happy, now to get them both on road....

Nice one Steve.

By the looks of there is plenty of room for a few tax exempt monsters across the road too.

Yes mate, think I might rent it out to blanchards or just spend more money I ain't got anymore lol
The 88 was a friend of a friend who died last year vehicle and it was an unbelievable price and too good to turn down, but that took some of the budget away from ambulance.... Rough with smooth I suppose.
Denis I have seen the photos of your fleet and really envy you, not only must you have an enormous yard to house them in but so much knowledge and patience to keep them on road.

G'day matey, with the site down i tried phoning you and left you a message but are you happy mate rbchn although when on lone to a friend to transport St Bernards to and from the vets he did go elsewhere for servicing and repairs who to be honest didn't have the faintest idea what he was doing hence you might find a few bodges btnghd.

The guy had slapped underseal on a new chassis and the fuel pipe was bodged so i took that off and just used a small pipe and lawn mower tank just to move here around having got it home he also broke the oil line for the oil cooler so replaced it with a BSA Gold Star oil pipe that cost a fortune when really it should only be a small pipe in metal conduit for protection.

The navyboz have been a god send in helping fit wheels and get it moved before unloading with it being full from top to bottom with landrover related trinkets let alone anything else also dragging the old gal to the gate ready for loading but the did it bless em.

The clutch is proune to sticking to the flywheel with lack of use but if you look at the history you will se so my advice is start her up in first and toole off with the foot on the clutch and it will free it'self but i think the mater cylinder will need honing with new seals along with the brake cylinders having not been used for a very long time.

If you need to know anything just ask. Catch you later. R-Rose rbchn

Thanks brad, I had some excited neighbours when it turned up, I am well cuffed to have it in my fleet and understand I only got it from you as a last resort but at least you have your recovery base to get excited about. I will keep you updated on progress but it's going to be a slow process to make sure I get it right.... Any luck on keys?
Regards
Steve

Great looking fleet.

 whoo

Maybe I can squeeze another couple on the drive.
 rbchn

Sort those roof vents out before you spend time on the inside.

See you at Shell.
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.
