J**p actually made SWB forward controls in the 50s and 60s look for the photos on the web.

I will go and wash my mouth out now.

Sam.

How about a forward control with a fifth wheel for an uber trailer?
All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

Thanks all!

Couple of dash photos, weird homemade 3 clock dash didn't suit it, hard to read and far too wide.

Replaced with this, not quite happy with it yet, will change the rev gauge for a slightly smaller one I think...

Looks good! I think if you paint the new panel black it will look better as the chrome bezels will stand out.

Was odd that first three dial dash

It looked **** in the flesh!!

Agree it needs a bit of black paint on the top panel, I'll get round to it sometime!

Mark and Ian knocked it together in a hurry (with a show deadline) from whatever they had lying around. It was always meant to be a talking point, not a "restoration".

I like what you've done with it - like others, I wasn't keen on the trayback, but the original tub was beyond repair.

It had a 3-litre IOE sixpot in it the last time I saw it (when I picked some stuff up from Ian a little while after Mark died) - is it still there?

Keep us posted. I'm sure you'd get some interest in your progress on the Series 2 Club forum too...

Glen.

Its very much still a 6, its all that attracted me originally.

I briefly had an even rougher late 2a with a 6 pot and 900 in it, Mark and Ian had a poke around that one I would guess a few years before they built this one.

I dont think its the engine they originally built it with though. Its not the most powerful lump in the world but such a good starter (instant flick of the key) and so smooth its staying!

Wondered what happened to this motor so good to see it's still about.  Should be reasonably powerful with that litre in there. You've made it look much better - the styling and modifications before were somewhat fated in my opinion... surprised it didn't have a one piece screen and three wipers!

Thanks! At the moment no more changes, just clocking up the miles. She drinks oil though, nearly as much as she gets through petrol  whstle
