well today i had a scrap yard run and came back with much treasure  :Dancing-Chilli1group: full kit to fit a 300 turbo to my 200 di, its mostly done, just need to make a egr blanking plate and make an exhaust while its dry tomorrow. the 200di is a bit pointless and flat as a fart, might as well have a standard 2.5 so i ve done it!
Im thinking that is should drive carefully due to the rear rover axle fitted, so may stock up on a few halfshafts but still better than a broken box a!
Been looking at some welding thats been done by a blind donkey by the look of it,its solid but looks a bit rubbish. cover it in waxoyl i recon!

Interestingly i noticed that the 2.25 diesel exhaust manifold ports line up perfectly with the 200tdi, can see why di engines are an option and are easy to fit.

Right im up and running, it runs smoother, obviously faster, and smokes a lot less. so i ve learnt the 200di is a bit of a turd! its now better in every way, just seems to run happier. Exhaust is a bit interesting, off a lorry or summit so its big but it wont fall apart soon although its a bit low, anyway it wil do for now.

So i have been using her lots recently for long journeys and work, the turbo is just brilliant, so much easier to live with! I am still looking about for various parts.
Passenger rear spring has been sourced as it appears to be a either a swb or just plain wrong! 25 quid for a new old stock hd spring that was taken around the sahara as a spare on a carawagon in the 70s so no crap spanish steel there!
After the other half went on a long journey she has told me shes buying me the wright off road sound proofing....ha ha win!
I am also fitting high back front seats as she says if i have a crash my head will fly off or summit due to no headrests.

Next thing is i got stuck at work on a forwarder rut that i had made.....pitch black and reversed straight in, 2 wheels in the air, doh, could stand at the back and look over the roof. got dragged out like a nob.

After it being used as the wedding car in dec it now has the new job of teaching a young kid to fix cars since i found out im going to be a dad......slightly scary so any tips on improvements for this role as a bus as well might be useful! ie rear heating/seats etc. wdesmle

Congrats on the dad thing.

I have always involved Sproggle in whatever I'm doing to the landy and made it fun.

At bedtime, even at a young age, we read stories or looked at pictures in books (James Taylor etc) of Land Rovers and the Rolling Stones.

She has her own overalls with an oval badge on an now she's seven want sher own lwb carawagon.

The colour varies from week to week but the spec remains the same.

When we are driving in the the 2.5 na she wears ear goggles.

If youre planning on making a Toylander ffs start now!

Whatever you do, make it fun!

It's a good excuse for you to start buying wooden railway accessories and sh*tloads of lego! (You can blame the kid).

Forgot to say...

Sprog has had a proper tool set since she was four.

She knows which spanners are for land rovers.

She is very proud of it, I can borrow bits but I have to clean then before they go back.

Now she is seven, she can lift it herself..... must get more tools in it.

Is welding on the National Curriculum?

All the right bits, but not necessarily in the right order.

well i have changed my rear passenger spring and its still sitting down that side, put the removed one on the drivers side as that one seems to have thicker bottom leafs. no difference. must be geometry or a spring hanger bad repair maybe.
remember my series1 had the same issue and i ended up fitting a longer shackle that side.  rbchn

What i dont understand is the spring should sit at the same height even if one side has a hanger welded on a bit longer as the rear shackles would just move forwards a bit. The spring just looks flatter as if theres loads of weight on it. Its not the springs as the one i have moved has a perfect arc on the drivers side.   rbchn

Had a win yesterday, did a bit of skip diving and got some thick plywood for nowt so i built another box for my chainsaws etc, tying to make the back nice and tidy instead of stuff being piled in the back. I now have loads of storage and room to chuck the dog on top.

Now the leaning is annoying but the only way i can think of fixing it is longer shackles. Both front and rear lean the same.
