Good morning from Bedfordshire
« on: April 20, 2015, 06:56:54 am »
Good morning Ladies & Gents.

My name is Mark. Last August I picked up a 1967 2a Dormi 2.25 diesel. Here it is...

The photostream will show you the works that have been done so far. In short (New 2a Rad / Lift Pump / Spring bush (just one) Chassis brass brush - Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 & Epoxy Mastic / fluid change.

Works still to do - more chassis prep (top rail that I will get to when floor is up) bulkhead repair / doors (replace) / sound proof / OD tripping out - needs adjusting / strip & paint various bits / seat renovation & preservation / internal repaint / rear window seals etc then the roof needs renovation & TLC. I expect it all to take 2 years (funds limited). But great fun.

The intention is to use it as intended for camping with my daughter. I need her to avoid retail therapy that the wife (very LR unfriendly) is constantly engaging in. Harsh domestic environment (etc). I am sure you understand.

That said I have found significant solace in Team Faff's exploits & the discussions here. Shell island, Leafers at the Pit etc are wonderful events. When I am in a stronger domestic position daughter & I look forward to attending. Slight detours to Disneyland Paris & UK kiddy friendly adventure parks will be the way I indoctrinate her. Positive associations very key to getting that green oval mental tattoo applied.

Mum - she can stay at home. We will get greasy, dirty & have a wonderful time.

Previously I toured the German Alpine Road / White wine roads & most of Europe in an Audi TT. Very civil very capable, but lacking a significant amount of charm that I enjoy in spades with the Dormobile.

I post heavily on the S2C & somewhat less so on the LRCC forums. I have found all I have corresponded with to be very helpful. Top Ladies & Gentlemen indeed. So here to you, have a lovely start to the week.

Kindest regards
Mark

Thank you for the suggestion MrG. Vehicle needs remedial work & diaries focussed on that at present. Next year a very different story. Until then, lots of pictures please & have a terrific time. I have seen prior event footage & you do know how to enjoy yourselves which is very refreshing!
Safe travels.
