Yes its at Kelso on 27th to 29th June 2014 - a bit on the East side, but still should be a good do!

Looks a nice spot. A couple of us are planning a stripped out tour of the West coast next year, so would like to take you up on your kind offer of a place to pitch for a night on the way through.

Just been having mooch toby ...

^^^ Biggest single issue with the land access laws up here is that people take the **** with "wild camping". The intent ( ho ho) was to allow "real" outdoorsy people the ability to get the head down while travelling - the reality is that a small but bloody inconsiderate minority of neds use it as an excuse for a ****-up 10 metres from their car then disappear literally leaving all the shite behind them. I heard this lot from the house, this is what they left behind next morning. The river was littered with smashed "Miller" bottles - great for the next family who let their dog/kids out for a wander... .

I would cheerfully shoot anyone leaving the countryside like this.

Sadly mate.... This scenario has become symptomatic of the "£50 buys you a tent/bag/cooker etc"  from half raids Argos etc and allowed the masses to ruin a whole heap of my fave spots.
As anyone that has camped along with us... And as a Landrover group, I'm sure will testify we leave our pitch cleaner than when we arrived.
And that stands equally even IF it's a commercial site.
Respect costs **** all mate.

Very useful thread, I plan to have a week of "Wild Camping" before the LRSOC national rally at Kelso.  The advice here is much appreciated.

Prof, you are welcome any time. No firm dates for an event yet, probably tie it in with a rerun of my s2c thing but if the collective wanted to suggest a date, weekend or week I'd be happy to go along with that. For those wanting to make more of a "thing" of it there is the Sir Walter Scott steamer a couple of miles away, Stirling and Edinburgh Castles, Safari Park for the kids, all sorts on top of some off road stuff.
