Spent a wonderful week on Mull staying at Craignure in the pub. The landlord was a sparky from Glasgow and had come over to the island 20 yrs previously and never went back......says all you need to know really, I do seem to remember him telling me that they have to put up temporary  traffic lights if anyone wants to sit their driving test on the island.........might have been pulling my leg but I was very, very drunk wdesmle

I'd forgot about that, I think they put it on the T junction just outside Tobermory, and the airport runway is on the golf cours so the golfists have to wait on the tee until the plane has landed/took off
What a brilliant place!!!

First day on Islay lead to a distillery tour of Lagavulin, and I was tempted by 5 of the 6 malts offered in the tasting,  so much so I decided that the Minerva was safest left in the car park, whilst my Jerry can and I cadged a lift in the 59'er to go and hunt shipwrecks and fuel.

We duly set of in company with Lukes 80"and Vince's Lightweight heading north to Bunnahabbain (where there just happened to be another Distillery)

and the wreck of the 338 ton trawler "Wyre Majestic", which floundered 40 years ago.
