CLASSIC vehicle owners are being invited to show off their pride and joy at a popular village show next Saturday.

Eccleshall Show is now in its 66th year, but the classic vehicle area is a relatively new attraction, now in its 12th year.

Over that time has grown from 12 vehicles to more than 260 in 2012, and this year organisers hope even more classic and sports cars, vintage motorbikes, tractors and commercial vehicles will be on show.

Eccleshall estate agents Edge Goodrich is supporting the section and some of its own vehicle collection will be on display.

Matt Goodrich from the firm said: “Edge Goodrich has an affinity with motorsports and as such saw it as a natural progression to get involved with this area of the show.

“This year will be the first time an awards ceremony has taken place with categories covering the range of vehicles on display. However, this certainly isn’t a concourse event with the most pristine vehicle sweeping up all the awards; voting is to be cast by the public and is very much in the sprit of this fun event.

“The essence is on participation and we would like to encourage anyone with an interesting vehicle to come along and join us for the day.”

Eccleshall Show is held at Upper Parks in Sugnall, two miles from the centre of Eccleshall, and attractions include show jumping, horticultural and craft displays, children’s activities, gun dog displays, dog agility and numerous trade stands.

Classic vehicle exhibitors can get discounted entry tickets and anyone interested in displaying their vehicles at the show should contact Edge Goodrich on 01785 850222.
