Leafers at T'pit ....some changes
« on: May 15, 2017, 05:47:36 pm »
Right folks time for a small update ....

Leafers at T'pit 2017 is going to be a little different ...well very different for me personally as I'll no longer be the one stood at the front of the orchestra so to speak .

I've decided (With a heavy heart and a heap of soul searching to be honest) to hand the baton over to someone else to freshen things up somewhat and hopefully increase the popularity of the event AND hopefully to continue to raise the bar as far as raising funds for the NCM higher and higher each year (As we have managed for every year we have held the event)

It's a given that I personally (And the forum as a whole) couldn't possibly have raised the amounts we have in the past and hopefully had as much fun as we have doing so without the incredible amount of hard work the individual members have put in each year,
AND I hope that you will all continue to support the forum,LATP AND the new victim errr organiser ;-)

It's fair to say it's been a blast and I've had some great times with you all (As well as a fair few sleepless nights too) but as they say "Nothing lasts forever" and a change is as good as a rest .

I'll be involved for a short while longer to ensure things are handed over to make the transition as smooth and painless as possible  so hopefully there will be little to notice on the outside barring a new name over the door so to speak ....

Ohhh yes !!!

The new name over the door is Emma,(AND many many thanks to her for offering to take on the event )  so a familiar face to everyone as both Emma and the rest of the team are well used to organising the events that the forum runs .

Anyway please continue to turn up and make leafers at T'pit the glorious weekend it is and support Emma and the rest of the forum and T'pit ...

I'm off outside ....and "may be some time"  whstle

We have had some great times at T'pit thanks to you Ian and many a fun turn on the barbie and even more fun with pizzas (please no more pizzas). Emma can still count on me to make the sausages dizzy or what ever other culinary tasks she thinks up. Hope we will still seeyou around for a while even if its just to pop along and say boo.

Wowser - that's a bit of a shock, but well done for your efforts over the years mate. As one of the founders of the event, I know the pressures are great, and you have a lot on your shoulders. I had a full head of hair until that first event!!

Good luck to Emma, and I will help her as much as possible of course, but do you think that it is all too much for one person to take on?

Another vote of thanks from me and the Classic Camper (Carawagons etc.) lot, Ian, for all you have done to make this event even better each year and making us so welcome.

I'm sure Emma will keep it heading in the right direction   lkebtn

I would like to add my heartfelt thanks to you Ian.

It has become an institution. It reflects the ethos of Series Land Rovers at it's best. Cameraderie, no nonsense, no bling, no pretense.

Everything that it should be.

Thanks to you, not forgetting Vinny, Farlows, Strang et al (from older times) and of course (latterly) the "younger" lot who will take your legacy and evolve it further.

Looking forward to seeing you in August. Let me know when and where you want the banner !
