LATP 2020 CANCELLED
MissB:
Hi everyone,
Really hoped I wouldn't need to write this but unfortunately we've had to accept that it's time to cancel LATP 2020.
We had a fantastic first year at our new venue but this year is not the time to be gathering lots of people together around bonnets!
Apedale Light Valley Railway (who our show supports) are obviously reliant on donations to keep them going. Covid-19 will have a big impact on them (and many other organisations like them). We're having a think about what we might be able to do to support them (your ideas are all welcome).
We're also debating still making a small number of "quarantine LATP" plaques. Paula will be writing a post to gauge interest in the next couple of weeks so if you fancy one then shout up.
Thanks for your understanding, and we hope to see you in a field surrounded by land rovers at LATP 2021 at the latest!

Dam, Dam, What a Bummer.
I take it the camping list ain't open yet then?
I was really looking forward to this event, but it does seem like we won't be going anywhere "This Year". Even with LATP being four months away I can't see that we will be allowed to huddle together by then. This virus is going to take a long time to disappear and even longer before this life gets back to being something like normal.
We could all make a donation to the Apedale Site through/via a Just giving charity page, just like Captain Tom did? Monies, after expenses are removed, from LATP plaques could also go to Apedale? I don't mind making a ten pound or thereabouts donation as we would have been paying out on the weekend anyway. It'll also put us in good favour for our next meet there if we are ever allowed to go out and have one?
Put my name down for a Plaque, please.
Tom:
Hi all,
Completely understandable really, it's definitely the right decision though.
Perhaps we can go camping in our own gardens, and share pics & donate to a justgiving page etc. "leafers at your pit" :D

I must admit I wondered when this post would appear rbchn
But I’m sure we will all still be there in our thoughts on Aug bank holiday weekend, I’m also happy to pay my 2020 virtual entry/camping fee up front, got to keep supporting the little people often forgotten at times like these.
Just let me know who, where, when, how and the dosh will be available...
And thank you to the organisers of LATP 2020 I sure I would have had a great time, whoop whoop Chhrs

Sad, but the right thing to do. Stay Safe everyone.
