So, it seems the planning bit is more or less finished, hope it survives first contact with reality in mid-August 2016.

I've traced the route along Hadrian's Wall, down through the southwest corner of North Pennines (Alston and the Killhope museum) and again south through Yorkshire Dales (places around Hawes and a trek up Whernside from Ribblehead Viaduct), then back up to Flamborough via York and Stamford Bridge, north through Whitby and a stopover at the cliffs near Staithes.
