I'm doing the local pub quiz this weekend so can't make it unfortunately :(

I could be up for this - isn't there a rumour that the current landlord is leaving soon?
-

I'd go for it. I'm sure the bruising would fade.

Not only do I miss the Shell island meeting. but I am still in Italy when you lot are enjoying the black lurcher, however I shall be sending my apprentices, ie V8(diesel)dave and Graham, am a little gutted to say the least, enjoy yourselves, cant believe I wrote that stg
-
As redwinch mentions, V8Dave (now 300TDi) and Graham will be there
-
Calum has been to the 3 stags this weekend and asked about camping on this date and she said it depended on the weather. If it's been fairly dry chances are the field will be open for camping - they don't usually close it till the end of October.
So, we'll just have to see what the weather does. Mick and I will be there no matter what the weather as we sleep in the back of the 101 anyway!
-
I'll do my best to head over, assuming camping is on. I've heard good things about Black Lurcher!

Just a quick heads up ...
When checking that the campsite will definitely still be open this weekend, the reply was "we normally stay open until the end of October but it depends on how much rain there has been"
As that doesn't really help, Mick and I are going to drive over on Thursday afternoon and ask them
So watch out for an update on Thursday
ALSO, it's possible/probable that the pub won't be doing any food. Will try and find out out

They've not done food for some time sadly..... However
The curry cottage down at Stoney Middleton have delivered food to us at the campsite in the past if that's any help.

The pub brings back memories from long long ago.
My uncle bought me my first pub pint in there when I was 14 much to may gad's annoyance. I had to wait till I was 18 before he would buy me a pint.

Just come back from campsite and the owner said that it will be open on Saturday.
See you there!

What times kick off on the sat, looks like I can’t make the Sunday. But could take a little trip round local lanes before hand on the sat?
-
We may arrive nearby early hours Saturday morning
-
We'll probably get there at 4ish
-
just there for the beer and breakfast
-
right so no need to arrive too early then
-
With apologies, I'm unfortunately going to have to count myself out of this, being sensible. I've a rather long 'to-do' list for this weekend, and to confound matters, have been advised today that I no longer have Monday off. Should save a few petrol pennies for the Christmas do, at least. Hope those who do head over have a grand time!

Interesting pub and can't believe I've driven past it lots of times and never noticed the campsite or the café!
The good thing was the rain stopped Saturday dinnertime and the sun came out resulting in a very clear night, Sunday morning started off cold (ice on the inside of the windows) but then the sun came out resulting in a nice day out.
