I'm liking that, chaps!
I trust you'll retain the signwriting.
-
Yep sign writing staying, paintwork peeling but leaving it. Bulkhead needs hot glue gun a fair bit. Chassis in places but not bad. Get it stripped go from there. Currently roof off to get it in the garage, removed one wing tonight.
Oh it's a secret from parents for now lol

Lovely that! I know where Bankhall Lane is in Liverpool, it still has car garages and a Calor gas centre! Perhaps it didn't stray far in its working life Bnana

The gas sign writing is first, used to be north western gas board before it went to Liverpool bankroll motors. Someone has chipped the paint away where the gas sign is.

Rad panel, seat box, wings and screen off!

Bet the spinny spanner was used a fair bit, and why is there a strop on the front bumper does it keep rolling away?
-
just ratchet set and spanners. Grinder had to come out on a few stubborn bolts.
Strap on it because brakes sticking, haven't took wheels off yet so pull it out of garage with my 109.

Looks pretty decent order that - much better than my 109 chassis!

It does indeed, but needs a bit of welding on the bulkhead and outriggers .
-
Looks jolly nice. I see your bulkhead has seen better days as perhaps has mine if I ever get the courage to take it apart ( waiting to move house first) what are your plans to repair it?

Sorry or late reply, don't go one the forum that often.
Currently we are still fighting with DVLA to get it back on the road, but aren't really doing much to the body work as the sign writing is all original. So not going to touch is.
We are going to repair chassis as needs a little welding (front and back).
Adam is going to send the bulkhead off to get repair as it's only the passenger's side that's gone.
We are going to start work again when paperwork is all complete.
-
keeping our fingers crossed for dvla sorting themselves out for you
-
Thank you, hopefully everything should be fine. It's just the third time we've sent the paperwork off. Just getting a little tedious xx
-
I had to do that too. I had a chassis digit missing on the V5. I expected a huge issue but they were happy enough to amend their records. Good luck with yours.
-
Lovely S1. :)
I had DVLA issues also. The previous owner had taken the S2a along for MOT for over 10 years to the same place, and it seems that they hadn't picked up on the error recording the VIN number with an E instead of a B suffix.
Thought I was going to have a nightmare with DVLA, but it was sorted out fairly quickly with an independent inspection letter.
Hopefully you will get things sorted quickly. :)
-
Just a update,
We have had good feedback from S1 club.
All the paperwork has now been passed over to DVLA and we should get V5 in the post (finger Crossed) in above 6weeks time.
We are so happy as..... The kitchen is getting full of S1 parts.
Adam's said as soon as the paperwork is in his hand, he going to chop the chassis to repair it right away.... whoo
