I wasn't sure where to post, but decided this would be the most likely spot. Yesterday I travelled up the New England hwy to Bendemeer a small town along the hwy that connects Sydney with Brisbane via the inland route over the New England ranges, hopefully I will be able to insert a short clip showing the traffic congestion that we have here in Oz, it's horrendous on most daze whstle

On arrival it was plain to see that the Land Rover was well represented, with about 30 or so vehicles ranging from early Series 1 to 110 Ex-military & Range Rover & Discovery.
This line up of Series 1's was my first port of call

the L/R with all the steel hanging off it was a real eye opener, it has the std engine which ran a hydraulic pump mounted out front which ran all the things on it, through this control valve in the cab

the owner did demonstrate the boring bit and it was stabilised by the ram mounted in the back

The old Bendemeer garage Land Rover was there as well, it used to be used for breakdowns on the 'Moonbi Range', it would push the cars to the top of the range using the front bumper bar with an old tyre attached to the bar

the current owner is doing some minor restoration on it, but his work is way too slow for my way of thinking, here is another image of the Series 1's

they were all bog standard, no engine changes.
Some of the other ex-military Land Rovers there are 4 110 variants shown, the closest one is a RFSV i.e. Regional Force Surveillance Vehicle, it has all manner of bolt on/off items that can be added, the others were FFR's

There were 156 Fergie tractors registered for the event, they had a parade through the town, Land Rovers included

there was one modified tractor it had a Ford V8 sidevalve engine fitted, why?? who knows, here is a very short clip of it

this panel van had a TV screen and was playing a video of Fergies being assembled in Coventry, that was interesting looking @ OH&S aspects of it LOL rbchn
there was a shearing demo for kids

also this machine made in 1896 for doing something with Corn

there were cut a way transmission/diff's etc

and this little 51 model Land Rover for sale, it was reasonably straight nothing missing from it, chassis in very good order (for a farm vehicle used in dry rocky conditions) it ran quite well, no brakes, all electrics appeared to work and all instruments present

all for the princely sum of $1,600Au = 874pounds approx., shame I have a Series 1 under construction.
This S1 had UK plates on it, but I don't think they would have been original, I did not see the owner to ask

Fantastic pictures of the series ones! Are you a member of the series one club or even the series one forum? I am sure they would appreciate those photographs over there too!

Strang, I am a forum user in the Series 1 club, but I do not know how to post small images like they use, my user name is DJM55, by all means if you can copy n paste please feel free to do so.

Hi Dennis - I hate those small thumbnails that most of the users there post up - they are loaded directly to the forum, and to be honest, I can't be bothered to click and enlarge them, so never really look at them.
I always post pictures that are hosted elsewhere like you have done - i.e. photobucket or similar, so I should just post them up full size - which as I say, makes them easier to see.
